About
Jacob Billington Trust was founded in 2022 by friends of Jacob and his sister. Our aim is to raise funds for the benefit of young people in the Sefton area; specifically to assist funding for young people's music education. The name and idea behind the charity was to create a legacy for our friend, Jacob.
We've known Jacob for varying lengths of time, but he's been our friend for at least 9 years; longer for some of us. We sadly lost Jacob in 2020 when he was only 23. He has left a hole in our lives that cannot be filled. He was loved by so many for his humour, wit and energy.
Most pertinently, Jacob was an extremely talented musician; trying his hand at guitar, bass, ukulele and drums among a smattering of other instruments. Jacob was a naturally gifted musician and was able to flourish thanks to the music education that was offered to him throughout his life. Hence why we thought raising funds for young people to have the same opportunities, all in his name, was the perfect way to honour his legacy.
Our Team
Jacob Billington Trust was set up in 2022 by 5 of us, Jacob's friends, as a legacy to a truly outstanding person that we didn't ever want to forget. Jacob's sister, Abbie, joined us not long after we were setup. Although the 6 of us setup/run the charity, the success of Jacob Billington Trust is entirely dependant on the kindness and generosity of those who donate to us and all of us are eternally grateful for your support.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that every young person has the chance to pursue their creative arts passion, regardless of their background or socio-economic status. With the prices of everything rising, we want to provide vital funds to the young people who will benefit most; fueling their passion and improving their talent and mental health through music. Most of all, we don't young people missing out on the fun of music because of factors that they cannot control!
