"JBT have been amazing" - Student Update

Hearing how our work is impacting the young people that we support is one of the most rewarding parts of our roles at JBT. As our stakeholders, we want to share this news with you - so that you can see the impact that your generous donations have on the young people of Sefton.

Liam, one of the young people we have been supporting, has been having part-funded music lessons at Harmonics since October 2023. After hearing of Liam's progress, we were delighted to extend Liam's funding into 2025.

Liam's mum told us a bit about him and how JBT funding has impacted them.

Liam became interested in guitars in 2021, purchasing his 1st guitar in a charity shop, he used the Internet to teach himself the basics. It was only after calling into Harmonics music shop in Crosby to purchase some bits that they mentioned they offer 1:1 lessons. I looked into it and Jacob Billington Trust have been amazing and funded 50% of the cost of his lessons which otherwise would have been out of reach financially. Liam has improved so much and now has an electric guitar. He suffers with low self esteem and lacks confidence; however, the JBT have helped him overcome these issues and he's much happier mentally and we can't thank them enough.

All of us at JBT are thrilled that Liam has been able to benefit so positively from his music lessons and we can't wait to see how he will progress in the future.

If you, or a young person you know, would benefit from part-funded music lessons, please visit the 'Refer a student' page on our website for all the information you need.
